Terms, Privacy & Service Disclosures
These terms explain how ride requests, payments, personal information, and ColonoscoPal’s non-emergency transportation service are handled.
Effective October 13, 2026
1. Requests, acceptance and confirmation
Submitting a ride request confirms that you have read and accept these Terms, Privacy & Service Disclosures. If you submit a request for another person, you confirm that you are authorized to provide their information and agree to these terms on their behalf.
A form submission is only a request. It does not reserve a date or create a confirmed ride. A ride is confirmed only after ColonoscoPal confirms availability in writing and receives the required $25 deposit.
2. Price, deposit and payment
- The complete round-trip service price is $125 unless a different price is agreed to in writing before service.
- A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a confirmed date. The deposit is applied to the total price.
- If ColonoscoPal cannot provide a ride that it previously confirmed, the deposit will be refunded.
- After pickup, waiting and return transportation are completed, an invoice for the remaining balance will be emailed within 12 hours. The balance is due upon receipt.
- Accepting the confirmed transportation service means that you agree to pay the remaining balance.
- A balance unpaid 10 calendar days after the invoice date may be subject to a late fee disclosed on the invoice and applied only as permitted by law.
Any payment processor or invoicing provider used for a deposit or balance may apply its own privacy and security terms.
3. Transportation service and rider responsibilities
ColonoscoPal provides pickup from the agreed address, transportation to the scheduled procedure, waiting during the procedure, and a return ride to the agreed destination. Timing may change because of traffic, weather, facility delays, or circumstances outside reasonable control.
- Provide accurate contact, appointment, pickup, destination, and emergency-contact information.
- Remain reachable before and during the scheduled service and promptly report appointment changes.
- Follow the medical facility’s discharge requirements. The facility—not ColonoscoPal—decides whether a patient may be released.
- Passengers must be able to enter and exit a standard midsize SUV independently or with light assistance. The vehicle has no wheelchair ramp or wheelchair storage.
- Do not request medical supervision or submit medical records, diagnoses, medication lists, or detailed health information through the website.
Service may be declined or ended when conditions are unsafe, unlawful, abusive, or materially different from the information provided. Nothing in these terms limits any right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
4. Medical, licensing and insurance disclosures
ColonoscoPal is an independent, paid, prearranged transportation service. It is not a hospital, healthcare provider, health plan, ambulance, emergency service, or licensed non-emergency medical transportation provider. The driver does not provide clinical care, make medical decisions, administer medication, or monitor a passenger’s medical condition.
The service is intended to feel as personal and supportive as receiving a ride from a trusted friend, but it is offered for a fee and should not be treated as an unpaid personal favor for insurance or regulatory purposes.
ColonoscoPal does not bill health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid and does not guarantee that any insurer or benefit program will reimburse the customer. Automobile and other insurance coverage is governed solely by the applicable policies; nothing on this website creates, expands, or guarantees insurance coverage.
5. Privacy
Information collected
The request form may collect your name, email address, telephone number, emergency-contact information, appointment date and time, and pickup and procedure locations. Basic technical information may also be processed by the website host and form provider when you visit or submit the form.
How information is used
Information is used to evaluate availability, communicate about the request, arrange and provide transportation, collect payment, address safety concerns, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
Personal information is not sold or rented. It may be shared only as reasonably necessary with providers that support website hosting, form delivery, email, payment or invoicing; with the emergency contact you provide when reasonably necessary for safety or coordination; with your procedure facility at your direction or when needed for pickup and discharge coordination; or when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect safety and legal rights.
Retention and security
Information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and for applicable recordkeeping obligations. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no email, form, website, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by replying to a ColonoscoPal email or using the contact method provided with your booking. Some information may need to be retained for payment, safety, dispute, or legal records.
6. HIPAA and health information
HIPAA applies to covered healthcare providers, health plans, healthcare clearinghouses, and certain business associates. ColonoscoPal is a transportation service and does not intend to act as a healthcare provider or collect medical records. Information you provide directly to a transportation service may not be protected by HIPAA in the same way as information maintained by your doctor or health plan.
Even when HIPAA does not apply, ColonoscoPal treats request information as private and limits its use and sharing as described above. Please provide only the minimum information needed to arrange transportation and do not include medical records or detailed health information.
7. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date above identifies the version that applies when you submit a request. Confirmed rides remain subject to any separate written terms provided with the confirmation or invoice.
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these terms may be sent by replying to the most recent ColonoscoPal email or through the contact method provided during booking.
